In addition to supporting Faversham Foodbank, the School Council are very excited to announce that this year we will be supporting:

The School Council have written to each of the charities to see how we can support them during the year.

Sensory Garden

Harvest Festival 20th Sept 2022

Our School Council are pictured below with some of the donations which were brought to the Harvest Festival.  Once again we have been completely overwhelmed by your generosity for Faversham Foodbank. Thank you all so much.

Everything below this point is for academic year 2021/2022 .

THANK YOU for all of your donations on the Annual Fundraising Day - the School Council managed to raise a huge £720 for our nominated charities: Dogs Trust, Porchlight, Cancer Research and Friends of Suchana.

Hello from your new School Council!

Summer and Jake Class 4

Grace and Jaxon Class 3

Margot and André Class 2

The School Council were very pleased to welcome Georgia Cook to Sheldwich to deliver a whole school assembly about the charity Porchlight (28/02/22).   Georgia’s assembly was very interactive and enabled everyone to develop an understanding about the charity’s work and what it means to be homeless.  The School Council will be working with Georgina to raise much needed funds for Porchlight.

8th July 2022

We have sent the letter below out today with information about our Fundraising Day which will be next Friday 15th July. We are all very excited and hope we can raise lots of money for our charities.

We have written to all our chosen charities to see how we can best help them over the next year.

A copy of one of the letters we have sent is below with the response from Porchlight.

Term 4

Term 4 has been very exciting for both the School Council and Eco-Council. At the end of Term 3, we had been invited to take part in the local planting of an avenue of trees to commemorate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee but the plans did not come to fruition! Consequently, the children took matters into their own hands and have planted their own trees in our school grounds!

The Class 6 representatives from School Council and Eco-Council planted an apple tree in our vegetable garden.

All children had great fun digging a hole, preparing the soil and planting oak saplings around the school boundary.

All children gleefully planted strawberry plants, kindly donated by Mr Meyer. We are hoping for a bumper strawberry harvest to accompany our cream tea to celebrate The Queen’s 70 year reign.

Term 3

Term 2

The School Council have been busy making ‘suggestion tubes’ by repurposing tennis ball containers and using up our wool remnants.  I think you will all agree that they look AMAZING.

Term 1

Following discussions in all classes led by the School Council this year we will be fundraising for:

Cancer Research

Dogs Trust

Porchlight
